Fireside with Musician and Author Paul Cardall

January 22, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Willow Park Church (340 West 700 South)

Paul Cardall started playing the piano when he was 17 years old after the tragic loss of his high school friend. Paul found comfort in composing music. He has since established himself as an international best-selling pianist. The uplifting influence of music has become a tool for Paul to share his love for the Savior.

Paul Cardall makes music; the kind his fans say soothes the heart and nurtures the soul. Ironically, the pianist was born with only a half-functioning heart. The depth of his music comes from experiencing a series of difficult surgeries and illnesses. After years of making music, Paul’s defective heart began to fail. He needed a heart transplant.

Determined to survive, Paul maintained a weekly blog for his family and friends that offered a unique, spiritual perspective on life and facing death. Eventually a million people were following his story.

After waiting 385 days on the organ donor list, Paul Cardall received new life and a new heart in September 2009. His memoir was published and titled “Before My Heart Stops” by Shadow Mountain.

When Paul is not traveling and sharing his message of hope and healing, he is at home in Sandy with his wife Lynnette and 5-year-old daughter Eden. He served a mission in California and is currently the young men’s president in his ward.
